Lynn Baker/Dirt wrote a very honest autobiographical essay about being butch that is well-worth reading: Ain't I a Woman-The Problematics of Butch Privilege. “Because like men, I cant see how women are when I'm not around. ... As a white person, I've been elevated via internalized racism and as a woman whom they put in the category of man, I've been elevated via internalized misogyny. All spelling out, not only am I not one of them [ie women], they perceive me due to cultural prejudices/sexism as BETTER than them! I'm someone to be served, flirted with, sexually available for, treated with respect, deferred to, in other words-I'm someone who isnt a woman.”

Miss Transgender United UK launched by Rachael Bailey. Morgan Naomi Clarke is a contestant. Winner: Jai Latto, gained £5,000, a voucher for £10,000 of medical treatment at the OLMEC Transgender Surgery Institute in Delhi, India, which may be used for either gender re-assignment surgery or a range of cosmetic treatments, and a professional lingerie modelling contract with Sensalle Lingerie worth £3,000 plus expenses for 10 days shooting.
