The band was named after either a Willie Dixon or Bo Diddley song called Pretty Thing. Twink was either the third or fourth drummer they had and supposedly is called Twink because of his curly hair - there was a home perming product called Twink. The lead singer of the Pretty Things, Phil May, was bisexual but I'm not aware of there being any other LGBT members in the band's long and colourful. It's worth noting that they were an acknowledged influence on David Bowie, who covered two of their songs on his album Pin Ups and wrote a song called Oh! You Pretty Things. maxnoreply@blogger.com
