Brigit Brat (1964 - 2011) sailor, musician, sex worker

After high school, Brat served in the US Navy as a submarine commander.

Brigit, who was 6’7” (2.01m), designed and built speciality guitars. She composed and performed as Ritual Suicide Necrophilic Blues, and also covers of ‘When the Levee Breaks”.
God’s Girlfriend. She did a cover of “Bela Lugosi’s Dead” on her album

She also did porn and domination. And worked with Ilsa Strix (spouse of Buck Angel and then Lana Wachowski).

Brigit died at age 47.

  1. Thank you. I saw her perform at Jackie 60 and was wondering where she might be today. There is little on the web. I did not know she had been a submarine commander or that she had passed.

  3. I knew Brigit from before she transitioned and taught her blues guitar. We had a falling apart over her drug abuse, like Danielle Willis said, I'm sorry I couldn't save her. Hi Danielle, I remember my late wife Kim and I having some fun conversations with you and Brigit back-in-the-day. I hope all is well with you.

    I knew Brigit Brat as God’s Girlfriend through her cassette tape. I was so inspired by her song “Octavia” that I used it for my DJ name in college radio, and then my pen name in a small magazine I co-published with my ex for over 20 years. I am grateful for Brigit’s bravery, inspiration, and creative expressions.
